Executive Director
Reports to: Board of Directors
Annual operating budget: ~$2.0M
Mission Statement
The Atlantis Community Foundation exists to assist individuals with disabilities in integrating into all parts of society by increasing the availability of accessible, affordable, integrated housing.
The Organization
The Atlantis Community Foundation (The Foundation) was separately incorporated in 1998 as a 501(c)3 non-profit. The Foundation currently owns 183 apartment units in 5 properties that house persons with disabilities and non-disabled tenants. The Foundation is actively expanding its capacity with a 60-unit apartment building under construction, and another 70+ unit community in the planning stages.
The Foundation is a contract administrator for the State of Colorado’s Division of Housing rental assistance program, administering over 500 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV), State Housing Vouchers (SHV), Community Access Team Vouchers (CATV) and Section 811 Project Rental Assistance. Through that partnership, the Foundation creates housing opportunities for Colorado residents who face the greatest challenges in accessing affordable, safe, and secure homes.
The Position
The Executive Director’s primary responsibilities include stewardship of the Foundation’s existing affordable housing properties and developing new communities in Denver. The ED works with the board to develop, occupy and manage new properties, with the goal of adding new properties as financial assistance allows. The ED networks with existing and new funding sources to secure the necessary capital to complete each new housing project. The ED oversees the Foundation team, ensuring compliance with voucher funding requirements, and meeting deadlines for renewed funding contracts. The ED oversees the Foundation’s property management services, either in-house or outsourced, to the operational standards of the Board, as well as the support services program provided through a contract with a third-party.
